Sooooooo, my birthday is this weekend which makes me a Capricorn. Woo hoo! Astrological signs are certainly not something I give much weight, but I love reading my horoscope from time to time and it does make me think about my personality. In case you’re not a big horoscope person you should know that Capricorns are is basically the wet blanket of the zodiac. It’s depressing. Any time I take a peek at my horoscope I cross my fingers, hoping the planets have aligned in such a way that will give us Capricorns a break. Actually, the only time that happens is when certain planets are in retrograde (whatever that means) and the rest of the zodiac is off kilter. But these breaks only last a short while and before long it’s back to wet blanket status. You may think I’m being dramatic about my astrological sign, but I promise, I’m not. To prove my point I looked up Capricorn horoscope readings from a few different sources. Here is what I found:
You see what is wrong and you know what to do: the time has come to make corrections or changes. This means cooperation and organization, authority and discipline, responsibility–and all these things are what it takes to get you where you know you must go. [source]
You are usually capable of working hard and waiting for personal satisfaction if your goals are clearly defined. However, you may feel very disappointed once you realize that you don’t have what you want today. [source]
Throw yourself into your profession. Pleasure trips will bring you into contact with new and interesting people. Your boss may not be in the best of moods today. [source]
Get a handle on your finances today, Capricorn. Maybe your current balance sheet is not in its ideal place. So what? If you want to improve your situation, start by dealing honestly and powerful with the numbers. [source]
See, wet blanket. I rest my case.
Capricorns are generally characterized as controlled, organized, responsible, sarcastic, practical, pessimistic, introverted, loyal, and hardworking. (Blah, blah, blah.) While this undeniably describes my personality, it’s so defeating to be stuck in such a boring box! I think I speak for all Capricorns when I say that we do care about more than order, work, and money! Considering that my birthday is only 7 days shy of the Aquarius cut off, I’ve made the executive decision to change zodiacs (not even sure if that’s allowed!). And after a little more astrological research I think I fit in perfectly with Aquarians. See…
Aquarians present themselves in one of two ways. One on hand, you’ll see someone who is shy, and quiet. On the other, an Aquarian can be boisterous, eccentric, and energetic. Both are deep thinkers with a love of helping others. Highly intellectual, this is a sign of fierce independence that prizes intuition tempered with logic. [source]
I like this way of describing my introverted, yet enthusiastic personality much better. And at 31, I think it’s high time I take charge and decide who I want to be! ![]()
Does your personality fit your astrological description? Do you believe in that stuff?

Amen! I’m a Cappy too, but I actually don’t think my personality/demeanor fits the sign’s qualities at all. Or maybe I’m just so bitter by my zodiac sign’s constant wet blanket predictions that I’m in denial!
haha….just pick a new one like i did!
Wow, my birthday is the 24th and I’m an Aquarius all the way. I’ve read my horoscope a few times in the past, but looking at the profile really surprised me, it seems so accurate.
I’m a thinker and I’m pretty quiet when I want to be, but I’m also quite boisterous at other times. It all depends on my mood and who I’m around.
I would’ve originally said I’m not a believer…but mine is so close and I checked Pisces, since my Mom was told she was due in March when she had me (talk about being way off…), and it not me at all.
Aquarius is much more forgiving and less boring than Capricorn! I should ask my mother when I was due….that is sort of interesting.
I’m a fellow Capricorn (Jan 4) and TOTALLY fit the whole organized, stable, practical description. I have a lot of Capricorn friends and we’re all this way! However, I think that Capricorns are also among the funniest and wittiest people I know! So it’s not all bad 🙂
(My husband and best friend are both Libras – they have like, the best sign description ever!)
My husband is a Libra too….they do have the best description!
