There is nothing like abundant sunshine and 47° to motivate me to run on a Saturday morning. Throw in a running buddy who lives down the street and I can’t think of a better way to start my day!
Caitlin and I knocked out 5 miles in what felt like 30 minutes. I’ve probably said this before, but running with a friend makes the miles fly by.
Here is my post-5 mile sweaty picture courtesy of Caitlin.
I’m not just arbitrarily increasing my mileage. I actually registered for a Turkey Trot (I may have mentioned this) on Thanksgiving Day.
(My neighbor has this blow-up & light-up turkey on his lawn. I love it!)
I’m doing the 8k and it dawned on me this week that Thanksgiving is like—2 weeks away! So I have to get my butt in gear and log a few 5 mile runs to avoid a race day crash & burn. Ideally I’d like to run 6 miles before the race, but we shall see.
As for the rest of my day, I have plans to shop and run errands. Tonight Isaac and I are going to see a band called The Belleville Outfit. We love them and go to their show whenever they’re in Charlotte. And of course that’s not my only evening plan. Isaac and I are meeting some friends for drinks after the show. Another busy Saturday, but I’m not complaining!

Gotta love the huge blowup turkey!
They have a blow-up character for every holiday–it’s awesome!
I can’t wait for our Turkey Trot! I’ll log 6 mi with you. You can totally do it 🙂
You will get injured running as slow as I do–especially if I’m running 6 miles. We need to do a shorter distance together so I can pick up the pace. 🙂
