Learning Something New

by Nicole on November 7, 2010

I’m beginning to think nothing of weekends with back-to-back-to-back events. Last Saturday was filled with running and Halloween and this weekend has been all about Thanksgiving and culture.

To round out my Saturday, I said goodbye to my parents and immediately headed to DOMA Gallery for a lecture about art collecting on the cheap. Cultural functions always spark my interest, but I just never seem to work it into the agenda. When Meg, the manager of Lululemon and also a YAM, emailed me about the event, I told her to count me in.

I do not collect art, but can appreciate the passion art lovers have for their hobby. The lecture on collecting art on a budget was informative, but I quickly realized that I have a substantially different idea of “on a budget”. Everything is relative I suppose.

I’m glad Meg invited me—it was an enjoyable few hours of learning, mingling, and wine drinking. I definitely had a good time. It helped that my partners in crime, aka Caitlin and Kristien, were also present. Winking smile

Not wanting the night to end, Caitlin, Krisiten, and I decided to have dinner (and more wine) at Copper with some other friends.

Whew, that was a lot for one day! Not surprisingly, I headed straight to bed as soon as a I got home and enjoyed every minute of my extra hour of sleep. Yay daylight savings!

Hope you are enjoying the last day of your weekend! For those of interested in my vegan Thanksgiving recipes, I will be posting them soon.
